Our Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your prvacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.
The Information We Collect
On Peek Map's internal systems, the following personal information is collected and stored including:
- Email Address
- Password information
- Location as determined by querying 3rd party provider (Xtify.com)
If at any time a user wishes for his or her account on Peek Maps to be deleted, he or she may do so after logging into Peek Maps or by emailing mark [dot] bowytz [at] gmail [dot] com. When an account is deleted, attempts to access a user's map will result in a message stating that the map is unavailable.
The Way Information is Used
Email Address - A user's email address is used as a method of logging into Peek Maps allowing someone to change his or her settings. It is possible that Peek Maps may use this address for notifying about updates to the application. Email address information is kept private and is not shared with any other parties unless compelled by subpoena.
Current Location - This information is stored on Peek Map's database temporarily for three reasons. First for improving application performance, second, in consideration of keeping the number of queries for a user's current location to the 3rd party to a minimum (approx every 5 minutes), and to handle situations where location information cannot be retrieved from the 3rd party.
